Do you ever feel like you spend way too much time in your life waiting for something? Waiting in line at the grocery store, waiting in traffic, waiting for a vacation, waiting for your spouse to come home from work, waiting for that darn baby weight to fall off, waiting for the weekend.....today I am waiting for several things. Right now I'm waiting for my teenagers to come home from school, I'm waiting for the dryer to be done, for Ryan to clean his room, but most importantly I'm waiting for the doctor to call me back to tell me whether my daughter's platelet count is up or if we will have to go back to the hospital. The waiting is driving me stir crazy so I decided to take some pics of my boys playing an all time favorite...cars! Jack started doing this last week where he plays with Ryan's hot wheel cars and actually makes the "vroom, vroom" sound. I remember when Ryan did this as well and it always amazes me because how do they know to make that "vroom, vroom" sound? Is it instinctively a boy thing? Ryan doesn't usually play with his cars anymore so I can't say that Jack has seen Ryan doing it so he just copies him.....whatever it is, it's darn cute!
Sorry about the lighting...I don't know why it turned out so dark and photoshop wasn't cooperating either.

No matter what things I tried in the name of "non-sexist child rearing," the boys always picked up cars and said vroom, vroom. We had a Step 2 tool bench and a kitchen...we had a "family house" (AKA a doll house). They were never interested in playing school or house, etc. I am so excited to be able to have tea parties and to play with dolls!
